Meet the people behind Banchory Car Centre
Ritchie Ogston
Co- Owner of Banchory Car Centre since October 2020, Ritchie has over 45 years' experience in the motor industry starting with Callanders Engineering in 1976 and holding various roles in Aberdeen & the Shire. Ritchie's typical day is spent sourcing the perfect stock for sale. Ritchie spends his spare time out walking Gaffer (his Dachshund) along with his wife Sally.
Bill Duncan
Co-Owner of Banchory Car Centre since October 2020, Bill has over 35 years' experience in the motor industry starting off with Lewis Emslie in Maryculter before joining Ritchie at a main Nissan dealer in Aberdeen in February 1988. Whilst Bill oversees both the Sales & Aftersales side of the business, his true passion is selling cars. In his spare time, he can be found either on the golf course, walking his two dogs Muick & Oreo with Pam, or spending time at their holiday home in Aboyne.
Sean Ferguson
Senior Sales Executive, Sean returns to the Motor Industry after a short spell on Motor Finance. Sean has over 14 years' experience in Car Sales and worked with Bill for 12 years in Inverurie. Previously Sean worked with John Lewis and he loves helping our customers find the perfect car.
Devon Middleton
Finance Manager, Devon's role includes accounts preparation, suppliers payments and payroll. Devon joined the company initially as Service Receptionist but very quickly grew in to the role of Finance Manager and she is a valuable asset to the business and can turn her hand to most things (including car sales when required). Devon is Ritchie's Step Daughter and shares his passion for Dachshunds and her two are never far from her side (Alfie & Hugo). Devon & James have a few exciting things ahead which will keep them both busy.
Mark Morrison
Service Receptionist (Mornings), Mark has over 30 years' experience in the role and spent many years with Renault & Honda main dealers in Aberdeen. Mark started working with Bill & Ritchie in 1992 and he really enjoys working within a local, privately owned business where the owners are hands on. Mark spends his weekends with his wife Linda at their holiday home in the north east.
Liam Duncan
Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester, Liam carried out his apprenticeship in Inverurie when he joined his Dad in 2012 and then moved with him to Banchory Car Centre in October 2020 where he successfully qualified as an MOT tester. Liam enjoys the variation of vehicles that pass through the workshop on a daily basis and a typical day sees him carrying out MOT's, Servicing, Air Conditioning Servicing and timing belt changes. He spends his time off with his partner Kirsty and his two cats (Misty & Ash).
James Middleton
Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester, James served his time with a Suzuki Main Dealer in 2012 and joined Banchory Car Centre in 2021 when we opened our MOT Centre. In a typical day, James will carry out MOT's, Servicing, Diagnostics, Clutch Replacement on all makes and models. In his spare time James enjoys spending time with Devon and they have a few exciting things ahead of them in 2024.
Mark De Laurier
Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester, Mark worked with Banchory Car Centre prior to Bill & Ritchie buying the business and he achieved MOT Tester status in 2021 when the MOT Centre opened. Mark enjoys servicing and repairing all makes & models of cars and being part of the workshop team that has grown steadily since the changes in 2020. In his spare time, Mark can be found in the garage working on one of his cars or one of his families cars.
Jack Anderson
Apprentice Vehicle Technician, Jack joined Banchory Car Centre in July 2022 straight from school and really is developing in to a great vehicle technician which skills well above his age. He enjoys working with James, Liam & Mark who share their experience with him and guide him through his apprenticeship. Jack spends his spare time working on the farm with his Dad and tinkering with his car.
Brian Poppe (Service Manager)
Brian served his time at Station Garage Oldmeldrum, before going on to work with Walker Motors and Reg Vardy Jaguar, and then spending an incredible 35 years with I&K Motors.
He now rekindles his working relationship with Bill, Liam & Sean, bringing with him a huge depth of knowledge, leadership, and hands-on experience that will be a fantastic asset to our customers and team alike.
Leah Bruce (Service Reception PM)
After 16 years working in the third sector I was ready for a complete change and I have not looked back since joining here in July 2025. During my afternoons on service I enjoy interactions with our lovely customers and being part of such a close knit team.
During my spare time I enjoy being at home with my family and long hikes with my dog, Reggie.
Connor Murdoch (Valter/Driver)
Connor has been with Banchory Car Centre since 2025 and takes pride in his work ensuring the cars for sale are prepared to a high standard. His other duties include dropping off and collecting customer cars, so you will see him out and about in the local area!
Fraser Mutch (Apprentice Mechanic)
Fraser is now in his second year of his apprenticeship with Banchory car centre - following in his family's footsteps. When not working he can be found racing motorbikes. We at Banchory Car Centre wish him all the best for the upcoming season.
